Lucretius' De rerum natura is presented by retracing in particular the role that arts, ingenium and work tools hold for mankind, "provided with language and voice."
Ivano Dionigi is Professor of Latin Literature at the University of Bologna and Director of the Centro Studi 'The permanence of the classical'. Currently President of the Consorzio Almalaurea, he has been Magnificent Rector of the University of Bologna from 2009 to 2015. His research has focused on multiple sides; he has recently worked on the fortunes of classics in modern and contemporary Italian literature and culture, also providing translations of authors, particularly Lucrezio and Seneca.
