How can we describe the experience that we have in the city? Through the history of the city complex, the dynamics of its construction and its actuality are expounded.
Francisco Jarauta is Professor of Philosophy at the University of Murcia and Director of the Observatory for analysing trends at the Botìn Foundation, Santander. He is also Scientific Director of the European Institute of Design in Madrid and member of numerous cultural institutions of international standing (including the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid and the Cini Foundation in Venice). He has made a special study of the philosophy of culture, aesthetics and history of art, focusing attention on issues of modernity and its systems of representation. Among his publications: Fragmento y Totalidad: los límites del clasicismo (Madrid 1988); Pensar el presente (et al., Madrid 1993); Arte y escritura (et al., Salamanca 1995). Ha curato diversi volumi collettanei, tra cui: Teorías para una nueva sociedad (Madrid 2002); Oriente-Occidente (Madrid 2003); Gobernar la globalizaciòn (Murcia 2004); Escritura suspendida (Madrid 2004). He has also edited the Spanish editions of Leon Battista Alberti’s Momo (Valencia 2002) and Pontormo’s Diario (Murcia 2006).
